NHL DFS FanDuel & DraftKings Core Plays (Mar 13/22)

Mikko Rantanen (COL) (W) – $8,400

  • Mikko is definitely a must play on DK but I have him as my core play on both sites for now. I’m currently looking at other builds that will land me MacKinnon as it’s scary fading a matchup proof player in Nate, but I’m leaning towards a more balanced build. Mikko hasn’t been spectacular as of late, posting only one 20+ fps game in 7 games. As of now, I’m listing him as a lock on DK and a viable player on FD for cash games.

Spencer Knight (FLA) (G) – $6,500

  • Not sure why Knight is min price on FD but I’ll take it. He will definitely be the chakliest goalie on the slate as his team is projected with a 66% win rate. No need to overthink your goalie today on FD and just lock in Knight.

Cale Makar (COL) (D) – $7,200

  • Cale is a lock for me as he is the best defensemen in the NHL (in my opinion) and I’m sure many others agree that the 23 year old is a bonafide stud. He had hit double digit fps 13 games in a row up until his most recent game posting only 4.8. Although he had a poor outing, he played 28 mins and had plenty of chances. He’s the same price tag on both sites so he’s a lock on FD and a strong play on DK.

Mikko Rantanen (COL) (RW) – $7,000

  • Lock on DK.

Nathan MacKinnon (COL) (C) – $9,000

  • Locking in both Rantanen and MacKinnon today on DK. Matchup against the Flames isn’t great but they are on a B2B. Even if MacKinnon doesn’t find the score sheet, he can get you the 5+ shot bonus which he has gotten 8 out of his last 10 games. There’s positive correlation with both studs playing on L1 and PP1.

Cash Play Considerations

  • Jack Eichel (VGK) (C) – $6,800

  • Travis Konecny (PHI) (RW) – $3,200
  • Cam Atkinson (PHI) (RW) – $4,500
  • Cale Makar (COL) (D) – $7,200
