NHL DFS FanDuel & DraftKings Core Plays (December 2)

Nathan MacKinnon (COL) (C) – $8,900

  • Coming off a great performance last night, I am looking to lock in Nate at 8.9k. He always has a safe floor with the potential for a slate breaking ceiling game. At 8.9k, he is easily my favorite spend up and player on both sites.

Jeff Petry (MON) (D) – $3,800

  • Looking at Petry’s game log, it’s really surprising he hasn’t gone over the double digit point mark. You aren’t supposed to chase logs which I’m not but I am chasing that price point. I love Petry and he has always been cheap all year long.

Juuse Saros (NSH) (G) – $7,500

  • This is a tough one but I ended up putting Saros as my core play. I usually don’t like picking goalies because you really need to find the right one, especially on FD. That being said, he has been solid all throughout the season and came off his season best performance last game. He is projected to have a 49% win rate and for this price, I love the value as it can be anyones game.

Nathan MacKinnon (COL) (C) – $8,700

  • Nate is cheap and the best stud on both sites. He looks good this year and I like the matchup tonight against the Habs tonight.

Alex Ovechkin (WAS) (LW) – $9,700

  • Ovi is always much more appealing on DK due to the shot bonus. If he isn’t score goals, which seems to be rare now, he will most likely put up 5 shots. He is a lock for me and I am trying to figure out a viable cash game build on FD where I feel comfortable with my lineup. As of now, he is not in my optimal build for FD.

Vincent Trocheck (CAR) (C) – $4,200

  • Trocheck is way too cheap here for 4.2k playing against the worst team in the league. The Senators lost to another really bad team in the Vancouver Canucks just last night (6-2) and just looked horrible. If the Canucks can skate circles around the Senators, imagine what Trocheck and the Hurricanes can do to them.

John Carlson (WAS) (D) – $6,400

  • Another Washington Capital I really like today is John Carlson. He plays high minutes and for 6.4k, he is a very safe option in cash games. We also get some positive correlation with Carlson quarterbacking the top PP unit along side the Great Eight.

  • Vincent Trocheck (CAR) (C) – $5,500

  • Alexander Radulov (DAL) (RW) – $2,700
  • Martin Necas (CAR) (RW) – $3,800

  • None
